Flying Business Class with Philippine Airlines: Nagoya to Manila

A recent business class experience on Philippine Airlines from Nagoya, Japan to Manila left much to be desired. Despite being a four-star airline, the offering on this 4.5-hour flight didn’t live up to the expectations that usually come with a premium seat.

In-Flight Entertainment

There was no built-in in-flight entertainment system. While the airline offered an old iPad mini, the available content was limited and unimpressive.

Comfort and Space

The Legroom was quite restricted. The passenger couldn’t even stretch their legs halfway, which is unexpected for a business class setup.

Dining Experience

The food served felt more like economy class meals, only differentiated by the use of glassware. This added little value to the overall premium experience.

Service

Despite the other shortcomings, the onboard service stood out. Attentive and professional, the crew made the effort to offer a pleasant experience.

Key Highlights from the Review:
  • No in-flight entertainment, only an old iPad mini with poor content
  • Limited legroom; not enough space to stretch
  • Economy-style food served with glassware
  • Service was the only positive aspect
Final Thoughts

Unfortunately, this flight didn’t match up in terms of comfort, entertainment, or value. Apart from decent service, the overall business class experience felt more economy than premium.
